Course Description:
Students will be using the code.org Computer Science Principles curriculum to complete an AP course on Computer Science. The course takes a wide lens on computer science by covering topics that include:
- Digital Information
- The Internet
- Intro to App Design
- Variables, Conditionals, & Functions
- Lists, Loops, & Traversals
- Algorithms
- Parameters, Returns, & Libraries
- Data
- Cybersecurity & Global Impacts

0% Pre-Test Assessments
20% Classroom Practice & Activities
80% Projects & Post-Test Assessments
The following grading system will be used on project assessments for each of the units above:
4 - Advanced (A-range)
3 - Proficient (B-range)
2 - Partially Proficient (C-range)
1 - Not Proficient (Incomplete)
* All incomplete scores become a failing score by semester’s end.
