The President and his Cabinet:
President: Travis Whipple
Your main job is to oversee all the projects and offer suggestions, encouragement, etc. You should be meeting with the various groups and checking in on their work.
Vice-President: Sammy Sterzick
When not helping the President, you need to be working on a new name for our country, flag design & construction, finding a prime location for our capital, writing a policy for disorderly behavior during Senate meetings.
Attorney General: Chris Lasby
Review the cases given to you and present your opinions for each case in writing to the Chief Justice
Secretary of State: Keyanna
Research what it is that the Secretary of State does. You then need to establish a foreign policy agreement with the other countries on our continent: England, Spain, and France. You will need to get the advice of the President for these policy agreements.
Secretary of War: Alex Peterson
Research what it is that the Secretary of War does. Your main concern at this time is to plan your country's Army, Navy, and plan a defense of your frontier against Indians.

Research Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the Treasury, and what he did to get the United States' money problems worked out. Then look up and write a definition/explanation of the four types of possible taxes (tariff, excise, land, and head). You will later meet with the President and discuss these types of taxes and which ones you will want to use.

Research the early textile industry. (Do not go beyond 1850.) Gather information for a slideshow that includes type of textiles, textile factories, employers, and working conditions.
Banking Industry: Cody Pett
Research the banking industry and create a presentation on how banks work. Make sure the presentation has both information and visuals.
Gun Industry: Brennen Smith
Research the history and development of gun making. (Do not go beyond 1850.) Gather information for a slideshow that includes information and visuals on the different types of guns developed and produced during this era.
Shipbuilding Industry: Riley & Lance
Research early shipbuilding, but do not go beyond 1850. Gather information on two main types of ships: the clipper ship and the steamboat. Create a slideshow that Includes how the ships are built, how they function, and have visuals to support this.

Research information on the furniture industry. Create a slideshow that includes types of wood used, early designs, famous brands or styles, and types of early furniture. Do not include furniture beyond the year 1850.

Research the following: Boston Post Road, the National Road, and the early history of roads and highways. Create a presentation that includes the two roads above, as well as why roads were important, how they were built, and how much they cost.
Territorial Land Sales Director: Caelyn McMahon
First, research "How did the United States handle land sales?". Then, develop a plan by telling people:
1. How they can buy this land from the government.
2. How much the land will cost.
3. How much land they can buy (minimum and maximum).
4. Where to go to purchase the land.
Telegraph Inventor: Andrew Brazelton
Research information about Samuel Morse and the telegraph. Create a presentation that includes written and visual information on the life of Samuel Morse and explains how the telegraph works.
Postal System: Alex Rudnicki
Research the early history of the United States Postal System. Then create a presentation on how our country's postal system will work. Include the following in your presentation:
1. How will our system work?
2. How will mail get around our country to each town?
3. Where will post offices be located?
4. How much will it cost to send a letter?
5. How long will it take to get from town to town?
6. Will your system need horses, boats, could we use the new railroad?
Capital Architects: Madison Trahan & Tori Thelen vs. Megan Anderson
Research the layout of Washington D.C. and the architecture and create a presentation that includes both written and visual information. Be sure to include a list of government buildings found in the capital from 1800 - 1850. Later, you will take this knowledge and be asked to create a design for our new capital city.
Frontier Town Reporter: Skylar Dodd
You will need to start by drawing in the basic geography on the project map. Then decide where on the project map you wish to locate 10 new frontier towns based on the geography of the map. You need to check with the explorers and get their input on where these towns should be located. You will need to name these new towns, report their population, and their chief industries or products.
Explorers: Braxton Larson & Jasmin Johnson
You will be playing the role of Lewis and Clark.You will explore the remaining portion of our country, mapping out the land with rivers, lakes, and mountains. You will be creating a presentation of your trip that includes written and visual information. The presentation should be patterned after the trip taken by Lewis and Clark.
Canal Builder: Carter Wells
Start by researching the Erie Canal which was built in the United States during this time period. In a presentation, include visuals and the following information: How was it built? How wide, deep, and long was it? How much did it cost to build? What were the rates for using the canal? Why was it helpful in improving transportation.
Once your presentation is done, you will need to look at the project map and figure out a place where a canal would improve the transportation system of your country. You will want to consult with the President and get his advice. You should pattern your canal after the Erie Canal.
Public Education: Ryleah Wittenbach
Research early education in the United States and put together a presentation with visual and written information that includes what early education was like. You will also need to write a short essay on the topic "Why would a good education system be important to a young, developing country.
Plantation Economy: Alyssa Albert
Research and create a presentation on the four major cash crops (tobacco, cotton, indigo, and rice) grown in the United States. Report on the history of each crop, how it is grown and taken care of, and what role slaves played on growing these crops on large plantations.
Anti-Slavery Movement: Carly Dubridge
Research the abolitionist (anti-slavery) movement and create a news presentation using slides that has both written and visual information. Your research should focus on the information listed on your info sheet for the Anti-Slavery Movement.
Director of the Bureau and Engraving and Printing: Kaden Gnuse
Research how money is made and create a presentation that includes both written and visual information on this topic. See if you can focus on how money was made during the 1800s. You will also be responsible for creating the money for the new nation. Bills should include $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000.

Research the Supreme Court and prepare a presentation with both written and visual information on how the court works.
You will also need to study the current cases before the court and a render a decision on each case that is written out and gives a clear explanation as to why you reached your decision.
